In July 2017 St John of God Healthcare recognized the potential of RPA to improve their processes. They’ve since been on the automation journey, through the hypothesis, proof of concept, process design and now delivery of one of the quickest RPA programs anywhere. Following an initial period of processes and automation of ‘low hanging fruit’ they undertook a structural changes to the operating model which resulted in some significant savings to the operation and enhanced the value to the business. At this point in time the focus has shifted towards continuous improvement and continuing cultural change to give staff further opportunities to develop. In this session Greg will share:

First Mortgage is embarking on its Business Intelligence journey, with the goal of ‘doing more with the data’ such as better understanding the customer and enabling their different sources of data to converge. One of the initial steps in this process is translating this data to others not working within the finance function. In this session Head of Finance Michael Rasch will demonstrate how to gain traction with your financial analysis and communications to deliver compelling financial analysis and proposals and positive business outcomes. In addition, this session will:

  • Provide strategies you can use to better engage with your stakeholders, as effective stakeholder engagement will create alignment, provide clarity and enables teams to perform well
  • Help you to create financial savvy and impactful visual aids that will help you do less, but influence more, by making your business communications clear and concise

Bruno Shanthikumar - Finance and Transformation, TAFE SA
As the finance function prepares itself to be much less concerned with low value transactional tasks, new skills will be sought after to enable a finance team capable of taking on a more strategic role within the business.

Bruno has worked in finance leadership roles within Cable and Wireless and Pfizer and is now working to transform the finance department at TAFE SA. In this session he will share his insight into transformation of the finance team:

  • The realised benefits of installing a FBP system at Pfizer
  • How to understand the individuals within the finance team and enable them to play ‘to their strengths’ and how this can create a positive attitude change within the team
  • Responding to the higher education environment; building a unique BI tool fit for the job of beginning the transformation of the finance function
